About This Place

Rajni Indian Cuisine, nestled at 296 US-46 in Parsippany, NJ, offers an authentic culinary journey through South Asia’s rich and vibrant flavors. Specializing in Indian, Asian, and South Asian fare, this restaurant is a true haven for those craving expertly crafted traditional dishes served with warmth and efficiency.

Step inside and you'll immediately notice the inviting “Desi vibe” that many diners have praised for making them feel right at home. The spacious interior provides a comfortable setting whether you’re dining solo, with family, or a larger group. One of the standout features here is the flexibility to bring your own alcohol, adding a relaxed and personalized touch to your dining experience.

Rajni’s menu is a treasure trove for lovers of bold and nuanced South Indian and Indo-Chinese flavors. Their Complete Non Veg Thali, a favorite among regulars like S Das and Paul, is a hearty spread that arrives quickly at your table—just 10 to 15 minutes from ordering—packed with an array of flavorful curries, rice, and accompaniments that sing together in perfect harmony. The thali offers a satisfying exploration of tastes, textures, and colors, making it a fulfilling meal that keeps patrons coming back time and again.

For dosa enthusiasts, the Mysore Plain Dosa, Chicken Dosa, and the richly spiced Mysore Masala Dosa are must-tries. Each dosa arrives crisp and golden, with its savory fillings and accompaniments perfectly balanced. The non-vegetarian dosa varieties such as the Egg Dosa and Goat Keema Dosa are generous and bursting with flavor, elevating this classic South Indian staple. Customers have also highlighted specialties like the Porgish Fish Fry and Marina Fish Fry, which boast crispy, fragrant coatings that make each bite irresistible.

The restaurant’s Indo-Chinese dishes bring an exciting fusion of tastes. From the tangy Gobi Manchurian (available dry or gravy) to the vibrant Chilli Paneer and the Rajni Special Chicken Noodles, these selections offer a delicious twist for those seeking something a little different. Shrimp 65 and Chicken Manchurian are also crowd-pleasers, combining bold spices with satisfying textures.

Beverage options like the smooth Madras Coffee and refreshing Mango Lassi perfectly complement the spiced dishes, providing a soothing counterpoint to the robust flavors. Don't miss out on classic desserts such as the sweet, syrup-soaked Gulab Jamun, which offers a delightful conclusion to your meal.

While the food consistently impresses with its authenticity and generous portions, reviewers note a mixed experience with service speed—busy times may result in a slower pace. Nonetheless, the attentive staff strive to maintain quality and efficiency, especially for takeout orders, ensuring your meals are promptly and carefully prepared.

Rajni Indian Cuisine stands as a hidden gem in Parsippany’s dining scene, proudly delivering traditional South Asian flavors that capture the heart and soul of Indian cooking. Whether you're in the mood for a comforting thali, a crispy dosa, or spicy Indo-Chinese delights, Rajni offers a vibrant, satisfying, and heartfelt experience that has diners returning again and again.

Visited this place after a gap of one year ! I like the Thali here both veg & non veg. Service is very quick , you can get within 10 to 15 minutes on your table after you order the Thali .Before I tried Dosa also here, that was also good . There is another Indian restaurants Jashan located very close to this place but that not have Thali like this place offers . My suggestion is to upgrade the wash room section which looks very old and the dining area can be more decorative! Decrease the amount of rice in the Thali , if there is less spicy option available in the Thali . I like the papad in the thali which is typical South Indian papad , not the North Indian one like lizzat etc . If the fish fry of non veg Thali could be replaced with other kind of fish which are non smelly . Overall I always enjoy the food here since the portion is so large always bring back the leftovers!

The place has a very Desi vibe - you will feel like home here! You can Bring Your Own Alcohol here! Food is so authentic and tasty! We loved everything we ordered. Chicken Biryani was average but everything else was brilliant! Service was slow as they were busy.

2025 May 2025 Came 3 times in last two weeks . We enjoyed our non veg thali today . Thank you! May 2025 Went went many more times there in 2024 once in two weeks on an average . However couldn’t visit this year until today. As usual we enjoyed our dinner . The shrimp thakku with parotta was next level and I thoroughly enjoyed enjoyed it along other dishes. Suddenly I teased I missed this food for many months this year until now . Planning to resume my weekly visit here :) I appreciate the chief taking so much care in making the dishes . Thanks for making my day. 2024 Visit-2&3- went back for the dosas and idlis and vadas and filter coffee. They were delicious . Specially the chutneys are nice this time. A hidden gem in Parsippany .. we actually went to their Atlanta location and found about the NJ location. Had been to paraippany area and wanted to surely taste their food . Good location and nice food. lots of space inside to sit and eat . Ambience was ok. Service was very good . We ordered food and picked it up from the restaurant. They were quick and did arrange the food soon. We did order few items .. biryani was just superbbbbbbbb.. even in Atlanta branch biryani was the best . Bai biryani and chicken tikka biryani were just tooooooo good . Spice level was just perfect . Chicken fry dry was the BEST . It went really well with biryani too. Vegetable biryani was ok. Taste was good too but could have been spicier . Chicken Kothu parota was the only thing which wasn’t tasting as good as we expected . It wasn’t spicy at all and tasted sweet ! Wish there was more aroma and authenticity to that dish .. overall we liked it so much . Good experience overall. 4 stars ⭐ ⭐⭐⭐

Visit 1+2 Visited last week again. Same reviews. Food is good. Order pick up :for an order pick up they have a different fish fry we ordered. Visit 3: service is good as usual. Prices are very reasonable. Gongura chicken was very salty. Noodles was good. Chapathi seemed the one like frozen one. Food and services are very good. Food is slightly spicy but totally worth it. Good portion size and value for money

Rajni has been serving authentic Tamil Nadu cuisines over a decade in New Jersey. If you are In a Parsippany and would like to taste authentic Tamil and South Indian cuisines, don’t doubt. The dishes you get here are rare to find in other restaurants. Every item on the menu is worth the try. Especially the Thali meals is one of the best. Their biriyani’s are just superb.
